Congress rejects S&P criticism

The Congress party on Tuesday rejected the criticism against the UPA government by credit rating agency Standard and Poor's statement that there was no disconnect between the government and the UPA alliance. Accusing the agency of having a “poor understanding of Indian government functioning’’, it dismissed its report as that of merely a “credit rating agency” which was not qualified to pass such judgements.
