Both the ruling Congress and the Opposition Telugu Desam Party drew a blank in the byelections held for seven Assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh.

Of the six constituencies in the Telangana region, for which byelections were held, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidates won in four - Adilabad, Kamareddy, Kollapur and Station Ghanpur.

In the remaining two seats in the region, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate secured the Mahaboobnagar segment while a TRS-supported independent candidate won the Nagarkurnool seat.

YSR Congress Party bagged the Kovur Assembly segment, the lone constituency in the Andhra region where bypolls were held.
