Telangana coronavirus tally goes past 2.65 lakh with 921 new additions

Telangana's coronavirus tally crossed 265 ,000 as 921 more cases were added, while three related fatalities pushed the toll to 1,437.
 
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 146, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 81 and Bhadradri Kothagudem 71, a government bulletin said on Tuesday providing details as of 8 pm on November 23.

Coronavirus fallout: Maximum 4,000 fans to be allowed into England stadiums starting December

England will allow a limited number of fans at outdoor sports events when the four-week lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic ends on December 2.
 
On Monday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the government's new measures and Covid-19 restrictions in the country.
 
According to BBC Sport, a maximum of 4,000 fans will be allowed at outdoor events in the lowest-risk areas. Up to 2,000 people will be allowed in tier two areas but none in tier three.
 
Indoor venues in tiers one and two can have a maximum of 1,000 spectators, with capacity across indoor and outdoor venues limited to 50 per cent.
 
Premier League, England's top-tier football tournament, has welcomed the announcement made by the UK PM.

Rajasthan witnessing 2nd peak of coronavirus cases: Health Minister

Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma said on Monday that the state is registering over 3,000 Covid-19 cases per day for the past few days, calling it a second peak of coronavirus in the state.
 
The Health Minister himself tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday and has been admitted to the RUHS Hospital here.
 
Precaution is the only way to save oneself from this pandemic, Sharma said, adding that there are many reasons for the spike in the number of Covid cases. Jharkhand coronavirus update: 219 Covid cases, 2 fresh fatalities reported

Jharkhand's Covid-19 tally rose to 1,07,688 on Tuesday as 219 more people tested positive for the infection, a health official said.
 
Two more patients succumbed to the infection, pushing the state's coronavirus death toll to 953, he said.
 
Dhanbad and Ranchi districts reported one fresh fatality each, the official said.

After several rounds of deliberations on ways to control the spread of Covid-19, the Maharashtra government on Monday imposed restrictions on all air and rail passengers arriving from Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Goa. Passengers travelling from these states — which have seen a significant surge in cases — will have to obtain a negative RT-PCR test report before starting.

Russia coronavirus update: Moscow's Covid-19 death toll rises to 8,455

Moscow has registered 76 deaths of patients infected with Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the Russian capital's death toll to 8,455, the city's coronavirus response center said in a statement on Monday.
 
"Another 76 patients, who were diagnosed with pneumonia and tested positive for the coronavirus infection, died in Moscow," the center said.
 
In the previous day, 71 people infected with the coronavirus died in Moscow.

Chinese coronavirus update: 20 new imported Covid-19 cases reported

The Chinese mainland reported 20 new imported Covid-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 3,804.
 
Four new imported cases each were reported in Fujian and Guangdong, three each in Shanghai and Sichuan, two each in Jiangsu and Shaanxi, and one each in Inner Mongolia and Henan, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Tuesday.

Diabetic eye disease associated with five-fold risk of severe coronavirus

People with diabetes and eye disease have a five-fold increased risk of requiring intubation when hospitalised with Covid-19, suggest the findings of a new study.
 
The study, published today in Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice by King's College London, identified for the first time the risk associated with diabetic retinopathy and COVID-19.
 
Diabetic eye disease is a common complication of diabetes and is caused by damage to the small blood vessels in the eye. In 2014, the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy was 54.6% in people with Type 1 diabetes and 30.0 per cent in people with Type 2 diabetes.
