8:57 PM15 MLAs test Covid-19 positive in Odisha
At least 15 MLAs including Deputy Speaker Rajanikant Singh and three ministers have tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly starting on Tuesday, official sources said on Monday.
The MLAs underwent Covid-19 test on two days at the Assembly premises, ahead of the commencement of the Assembly session.
"I have been tested positive for Covid-19 and have been admitted in SUM Covid Hospital, Bhubaneswar. I request each and everyone who have come in close contact with me in recent few days to get themselves tested. Jai Jagannath," tweeted Deputy Speaker Singh.

Haryana reported 24 more Covid-19 fatalities on Monday taking the death toll due to the disease to 1,331 while with 1,630 fresh cases the total infection count in the state rose to 1,25,412.
Of the 24 fatalities, five were from Panchkula district,four from Panipat, two each from Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hisar and Karnal while one death each was reported from Faridabad, Ambala, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar and Kaithal districts, according to the state health department's daily bulletin.
Among the districts which reported a big spike in cases included Gurugram (261), Faridabad (195), Kurukshetra (163), Rohtak (126), Hisar (107) and Sonipat (102).

As many as 1,404 fresh cases of coronavirus emerged in Gujarat in the last 24 hours, taking its tally to 134,623 on Monday, said the state Health Department. A release by the Health Department said 12 persons with the Covid-19 infection also died across the state during the same period, taking the toll to 3,431.
It said 1,336 persons were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases to 114,476.
Gujarat Covid-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 134,623, new cases 1,404, deaths 3,431, discharged 114,476, active cases 16,716, people tested so far 42,93,724.
8:39 PMUttarakhand reports 457 fresh Covid-19 cases; tally at 47,502
The death from the novel coronavirus rose to 580 in Uttarakhand on Monday with six new fatalities, while 457 fresh cases pushed the infection tally to 47,502, according to a health department bulletin.
Haridwar district reported a maximum of 129 fresh COVID-19 cases, Dehradun 113, Udham Singh Nagar 76, Tehri 27, Uttarkashi 25, Champawat 21, Almora 19, Nainital 16, Pauri 15, Chamoli 7, Rudraprayag 5, Pitgoragarh 2 and Bageshwar 2, the state health department bulletin said.
8:30 PMCovid-19: 438 more contract in Goa; active cases below 5,000
As many as 438 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Goa on Monday, taking the statewide tally to 32,396, while more than 600 people recovered from the infection, a health department official said.
Also, six patients died, taking the toll to 407 in the coastal state, he said.
The official said that 612 people were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, raising the number of recovered cases to 27,072.
8:21 PMAndhra Pradesh's daily Covid-19 count dips below 6,000
After many weeks, Andhra Pradesh's count of coronavirus cases increased by a little over 5,000 on Monday, as state Special Chief Secretary (Health) K S Jawahar Reddy said the infection spread has been on a declining trend over the last couple of weeks.
The state reported 5,487 fresh cases of Covid-19 from 66,121 sample tests in 24 hours ending 9 am on Monday while 7,210 patients got cured and discharged from hospitals.
The Covid-19 toll in the 24 hours was only 37, a significant drop over the past few days.
7:29 PMRecord 2,112 Covid-19 cases in a day in Rajasthan; toll at 1,456
Rajasthan recorded the highest single-day spike of 2,112 coronavirus cases on Monday, raising its infection count to 1,30,971, while 15 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,456, a health department bulletin said.
Among the total number of people contracting the virus, 20,043 are under treatment while 1,08,476 have recovered, it said.
Of the 2,112 new cases, 444 were recorded in Jaipur, 361 in Jodhpur, 127 in Pali, 110 in Alwar, 106 in Bikaner, 100 in Bhilwara, 95 in Ajmer, 82 in Ajmer, 80 in Udaipur, besides cases reported in other districts of the state.
7:09 PMMumbai's Dharavi area reports 12 new Covid-19 cases
The Covid-19 tally in Mumbai's slum colony Dharavi rose to 3,152 with the addition of 12 new cases on Monday, a senior BMC official said.
After reporting seven fresh cases on September 25, Dharavi has been registering double digit daily infections (between 10 and 20) since the past three days.
