Odisha's coronavirus tally breaches 350,000 mark with 1,741 new cases
Odisha's Covid-19 caseload breached the 350,000 mark on Monday as 1,741 more people tested positive for the infection, while two fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,928, a health official said.
The state's coronavirus tally now stands at 351,302 as new cases were reported in all 30 districts, while the fresh fatalities were registered in Nuapada.

Covid-19: India records highest single-day rise with 1,68,912 new cases
India hit a new coronavirus infection record with 1,68,912new cases, the highest single-day rise so far, taking the total tally of cases to1,35,27,717, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The national COVID-19 recovery rate has fallen below 90 per cent.

Containment operations sub-optimal in Maharashtra districts: Central teams

3 jumbo hospitals to come up in Mumbai as coronavirus situation worsens
In view of a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases, the Maharashtra government has decided to set up three jumbo field hospitals in Mumbai in the next five-six weeks, city civic chief Iqbal Singh Chahal said on Monday.
Each of these medical facilities will have a capacity of 2,000 beds, including 200 ICU beds and 70 per cent oxygen beds, and they will be set up at three different locations in the city, Chahal told reporters. Read on...

SC suspends physical mentioning of cases as many staffers test Covid-19 positive
Amid a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the Supreme Court, physical hearing of the cases has been suspended in the apex court and judges will conduct proceedings one hour late from their scheduled time from their respective residences on Monday.
According to Supreme Court sources, many staff members of the top court are believed to be infected with Covid-19. The top court premises, including courtrooms, are getting sanitised and benches will sit one hour late from the scheduled time.
"The competent authority has been pleased to direct that the physical mentioning of matters before the mentioning registrar shall be suspended till further orders. However, the mentioning of matters through video conferencing mode will continue," said Additional Registrar, DEU.

Maharashtra coronavirus update: Nashik sees 3,741 new Covid-19 cases, 31 deaths
The number of Covid-19 cases rose by 3,741 on Sunday to reach 2,30,041, while the day also saw 31 deaths and 3,797 people getting discharged, an official said.
The toll in the district stands at 2,682 and the recovery count is 1,90,339, he added.
With 13,661 samples being examined on Sunday, the number of tests in Nashik went up to 8,87,262, the official said.

Maharashtra Covid-19 task force in favour of lockdown, says Cabinet Minister
A lockdown may be impending in Maharashtra, the Cabinet Minister Aslam Sheikh on Sunday said after a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray with state Covid-19 Task Force representatives amid an increase in coronavirus infections and deaths.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the task force via video conferencing on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, Sheikh said, "In today's meeting with the state Covid-19 Task Force, everyone was of the view to impose lockdown in the state."
