500 more oxygen plants sanctioned under PM-CARES Fund

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned the procurement of 100,000 portable oxygen concentrators from the PM-CARES Fund.

 

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Modi to discuss the measures needed to improve Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) supply for COVID management, said PMO on Wednesday. 

 

In addition to the earlier sanctioned 713 PSA plants under PM Cares Fund, 500 new Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants have been sanctioned under PM CARES Fund.

 

These 500 PSA plants will be established with transfer of the indigenous technology developed by DRDO and CSIR to the domestic manufacturers, said PMO.

Maruti advances maintenance shutdown dates to May 1-9

Maruti Suzuki will shut down its factories in Haryana to make oxygen available for medical needs. "In the current situation, we believe that all available oxygen should be used to save lives. Accordingly, MarutiSuzuki has decided to advance its maintenance shutdown, originally scheduled for June, to 1st to 9th May. Production in all factories will close for maintenance during this period. The Company has been informed that Suzuki Motor Gujarat has taken the same decision for its factory," the company said in a stock exchange filing.
