Curfew was imposed in parts after death of an 18-year-old youth Farhat Ahmad Dar in alleged police firing

Authorities in north Kashmir's Bandipora district today announced a three-hour relaxation in curfew, three days after it was imposed following the killing of a youth in police firing.

"There is a three-hour relaxation in curfew from 9:45 am to 12:45 pm today," a police spokesman told PTI.

He said the relaxation has been announced to facilitate people to purchase essential commodities.

Curfew was imposed in parts of Bandipora on Saturday after the death of an 18-year-old youth Farhat Ahmad Dar in alleged police firing at Sumbal after the Friday prayers.

The protesters allegedly started pelting stones on a police camp and tried to set ablaze a police vehicle, prompting police to open fire which led to the death of Dar.
