Cyclone Nisarga: Priyanka Chopra requests people to take precautions
"This year feels relentless," actor Priyanka Chopra said urging Mumbai residents to take precautionary measures in view of Cyclone Nisarga.
The cyclone storm is approaching the north coast of Maharashtra with a speed of 11 kilometres per hour, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
Sharing Mumbai's famous Bandra-Worli Sea Link road picture on her Instagram story, the actor wrote: "Cyclone Nisarga is making its way to Mumbai, my beloved home city of more than 20 million people, including my mom and brother."
"Mumbai hasn't experienced a serious cyclone landfall since 1891, and at a time when the world is so desperate, this could be especially devastating," the 'Don' actor added.

Mumbai on tenterhooks as cyclone Nisarga approaches
Cyclonic storm Nisarga, set to make landfall at Alibaug in Raigad district in the afternoon, hovered over the Arabian Sea around 165 km south-southwest of the coastal town and 215 km south-southwest of Mumbai at dawn, a senior IMD official said on Wednesday.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai's deputy director general of meteorology K S Hosalikar said the cyclone will cross close to south of Alibaug as severe cyclonic storm 100-110 kmph gusting at 120 kmph.

In another tweet, he said Mumbai city received moderate rainfall of 20 mm to 40 mm, while there was light rainfall in other parts of the megapolis during the past 12 hours.
He reiterated heavy rainfall warnings for Mumbai and neighbouring districts like Thane, Raigad and Palghar.

Cyclone Nisarga: Many special trains for Mumbai rescheduled
As coronavirus-ravaged Mumbai braces for cyclone Nisarga, the Central Railways on Wednesday rescheduled several special trains which were supposed to arrive or depart from the state capital on Wednesday.
According to the Central Railways, the timings of trains for Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Varanasi and for some other places which were earlier scheduled to leave the financial capital in the morning have now been changed.
"02542 LTT-Gorakhpur special will leave at 20.00 hours on 3.6.2020 instead of 11.10 hours. 06345 LTT-Thiruvananthapuram special will leave at 18.00 hours on 3.6.2020 instead of 11.40 hours. 01061 LTT-Darbhanga special will leave at 20.30 hours on 3.6.2020 instead of 12.15 hours. 01071 LTT-Varanasi special will leave at 21.00 hours on 3.6.2020 instead of 12.40 hours. 01019 CSMT-Bhubaneshwar special will leave at 20.00 hours instead of 15.05 hours," the press note issued by the Public Relations Department, Central Railway, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai read.

Cyclone Nisarga intensifies into severe cyclonic storm
Cyclone Nisarga has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm this morning. At 6.30 am, it lay 140 km south-southwest of Alibagh (Maharashtra), 190 km south-southwest of Mumbai and 415 km south-southwest of Surat (Gujarat). The current intensity of the cyclone near its centre is 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph, the IMD said. In the past six hours, the cyclone has moved northeastwards towards the Maharashtra coast at a speed of 12 kmph.
