The two main accused in the Dadri lynching case Shivam and Vishal, were arrested on Saturday, raising the total of the number of accused in the case to eight.

According to reports, Vishal is the son of local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary Sanjay Rana.

Six people were arrested earlier after public outrage over the killing of a man by a mob in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri, allegedly over rumours that he had consumed beef.

The deceased Mohammed Aqlakh's elder son Sartaj, who is an Air Force personnel, had appealed to politicians and the media to not disturb the family during their time of grief.
