India on Wednesday reported a net reduction of 101,875 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 1,793,645. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 13.08 per cent (one in 8). The country is second among the most affected countries by active cases. On Wednesday, it added 132,788 cases to take its total caseload to 28,307,832. And, with 3,207 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 335,102, or 1.18 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 2,397,191 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on Tuesday, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 218,546,667.
