DATA STORY: At 22,065, India's single-day jump in total Covid-19 cases lowest since July 3

India on Monday conducted 993,665 coronavirus tests, taking the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 155,560,655. The test positivity rate recorded was 2.2%

India on Tuesday reported a net reduction of 12,766 to bring its count of active coronavirus cases down to 339,820, the lowest level since July 16. With a continuous trend of daily reductions, India’s share of global active coronavirus cases is down at 1.68 per cent (one in 60). The country added 22,065. The lowest in a day since July 3, to take its total caseload to 9,906,165. And with 354 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 143,709, or 1.45 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India now stands at 9,422,636
