DATA STORY: India reports 31,382 new cases, 318 deaths added to toll

India has so far administered 841,518,026 vaccine doses. That is 2504.9 per cent of its total caseload, and 60.31 per cent of its population

India on Friday reported a net decrease of 1,478 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 300,162. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 1.62 per cent (one in 60). The country is eighth among the most affected countries by active cases. On Thursday, it added 31,382 cases to take its total caseload to 33,594,803 from 33,563,421 — an increase of 0.1%. And, with 318 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 446,368, or 1.33 per cent of total confirmed infections.
