Deepak Parekh, Pawan Munjal on shortlist for next IIM-A chairman

Pankaj Patel, CMD, Cadila Healthcare to be interim chairman until successor to A M Naik finalised

HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh and Hero MotoCorp CMD Pawan Munjal, along with Infosys chairman R Seshayee, are reported to have been shortlisted for the post of chairperson of the Board of Governors (BoG) at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
 
The search committee set up by the board to look for a successor to L&T CMD A M Naik – who resigned from the post last year citing time constraints – was headed by Naik himself. When asked, he told Business Standard that shortlisted names had been sent to the MHRD, which will take the final call on the appointment.
   
The search committee also included board members such as Sanjay Lalbhai, CMD, Arvind Ltd, Pankaj Patel, CMD, Cadila Healthcare, and D Shivakumar, Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo India Holdings.
 
Till a new chairperson is appointed, Patel will hold the office as interim chairman.
