Delhi government today said it would soon introduce a fleet of 1,725 new buses, exclusively for rural commuters.

Out of the 1,725 buses, 30 per cent would be luxury buses, Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of a new ultra-modern DTC bus terminal at Bindapur here.

To further improve transport facilities in west Delhi's areas, it has sanctioned feasibility studies for a Monorail project, he said.

The DTC Bus Terminal at Bindapur in west Delhi will be spread over 1,750 square meter, which is being constructed by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Goswami said.

The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 1.5 crore, which will completed within its timeline of six months, the Minister said.
