Delhi Police to curtail the serious traffic violations by advising the state transport department to suspend 80,000 driving licences

In order to improve the traffic situation and prevent the vehicular accidents in the national capital, Delhi Police has recommended the state transport department to suspend the driving licences of more than 80,000 serious traffic violators, reported India Today.

Interestingly, the transport department has only data of suspension of licences and not cancellation. It would recommend cancellation of licences only after the nature of offence was considered as ‘serious’, said the India Today report.
