Congress leader Manish Tewari on Sunday hit out at the Centre over the violence in Delhi and said that the CAA, NPR and NRC represent alienation, radicalisation, and extremism respectively.
At least 42 people have died and more than 200 were injured in the communal violence that broke out in Delhi.
The Congress leader blamed the Centre for the unrest in the national capital by bringing the new citizenship law and appealed the country to stand against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the National Population Register.

The Delhi Police has registered 254 FIRs and arrested or detained 903 persons in connection with the northeast Delhi violence, a senior officer said on Sunday.
Forty-one of the cases were registered under the Arms Act, they said.
According to police, they did not receive any PCR calls of rioting in the last four days.
The situation in the riot-affected areas is under control, a senior police official said.

The CBSE on Sunday said any further postponement of board exams in violence-affected areas of Delhi might hamper chances of admission of students to professional courses like engineering and medical. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials, however, maintained that the board is ready to conduct fresh examinations for students who are not able to appear for exams in the violence-affected areas. It has sought a list of such students from school principals. "The board is of the view that further delay in conducting Class 12 examinations may hamper the chances of admissions in professional courses like medical, engineering, law and other under-graduate admissions. "Few entrance examinations are conducted in accordance with the timelines fixed by the courts and therefore, dates are sacrosanct. Similarly, the JEE (Main) is also scheduled from April 3 to 19," a senior board official said.

The Centre has been able to control the situation in violence-hit parts of Delhi and would get to the bottom of truth and unravel conspiracy, if any, that sparked the communal riots, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said. He also said while issues can be resolved by means of discussion, rumours allegedly spread by a section of political parties and sections in social media added fuel to the fire.

A week after deadly communal violence erupted in northeast Delhi, the situation in riots-hit areas remained peaceful but tense on Sunday, though there was movement of more people and vehicles on main roads amid a heavy police deployment.
"The situation is under control now. There is adequate force deployed in all areas of northeast district. We are holding talks with locals and trying to rebuild confidence," a senior police official said.
No untoward incident has been reported from the northeast district over the past three days, he said, adding police are urging residents to not pay attention to rumours and report them to authorities.
Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar visited some of the riots-hit areas, including Brahmapuri, and consoled the people disturbed by the worst violence in three decades in Delhi.

Union minister Anurag Thakur, who has been under opposition fire over his alleged hate speech during Delhi assembly polls, on Sunday said strict action should be taken against those involved in the communal riots in the national capital which claimed over 40 lives.
The Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs was addressing a press conference here after meeting with stakeholders from various trades and industries during an interactive session organised by the Income Tax department.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said the AAP government is putting best efforts to provide relief to the people affected by communal riots in northeast Delhi.
Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal said he is personally trying to ensure that relief reaches each person in need, asserting that the government wants people to return to their homes and be welcomed by their neighbours.
2:49 PMGTB Hospital hands over 32 bodies, three remain unidentified
Three persons who died in the violence in northeast Delhi in the past week still remain unidentified as their bodies lie in the mortuary of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Dilshad Garden, hospital officials said on Sunday.
"Post-mortems on bodies of 32 of 38 bodies at the hospital have been performed and bodies handed over to bereaved families. Three of the six remaining bodies remain unidentified," officials told the media.
At least 41 persons were killed in northeast Delhi since Sunday afternoon after a clash between anti- and pro-CAA groups.

Delhi police made a heavy deployment of security personnel in southeast Delhi's Shaheen Bagh area, where several women have been leading a protest on the road against the new citizenship law for more than two months, as a precautionary measure on Sunday, officials said.
The police deployment has come after a fringe right-wing group, Hindu Sena, gave a call to clear the Shaheen Bagh road on March 1. However on Saturday, with the intervention of police, they called off their proposed protest against the anti-CAA agitation in Shaheen Bagh.
