If the civic body staff is demanding bribe for redressing grievances, just dial 110---the authorities will be there to help.The Chhattisgarh government is taking a new initiative to curb corruption in the civic body. The action comes following large number of complaint that civic body staffs are demanding money to clean the locality or rectify the electricity fault in the street lights.
"While reviewing the work of urban development department, Chief Minister Raman Singh took strong note on the issue and directed the officials to include corruption complaint on the toll free number," a government spokesperson said. The toll free number had been already in use.The department officials said till now complaints related to civic problems that included cleanliness, street light and others were lodged through the toll free number 1100.
