The Eamcet admission committee would chair a joint meeting with the government officials of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on August 6 to secure cooperation for ensuring smooth counselling.
Admission Committee chairman L Venugopal Reddy today said the meeting, which was scheduled for today, had to be postponed to the next day according to the request of the Telangana government.
In the meeting, the committee would urge both the governments to abide by the Supreme Court’s directive to conclude the entire admission process by the end of this month. For this, both the states have to clear the respective GOs confirming the orders of the committee and for kickstarting the government machinery and the participation of colleges in the entire exercise.

“We are working to see that all pending GOs from both the governments are cleared by tomorrow evening,” said Reddy.
While the AP government expressed full agreement with the SC's stand and is also ready to discuss it, Telangana has not made its stand clear on the status of pending GOs, fee reimbursement and the controversial nativity issue.
Though the admissions committee claims it has all the adequate machinery, including the 57-designated helpline centres (HLCs) for taking up student certificate verification, a part of admissions, doubts linger over the participation of the Telangana polytechnic colleges staff, who are supporting their government's stand on holding a separate notification for admissions.
Also, complicating the matters, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad last week said it would need three more weeks for its officials to finish routine inspection of colleges. Only colleges certified by JNTU-H can participate in the counselling.
Meanwhile, chairman of the newly-constituted Telangana State Council for Higher Education, T Papi Reddy, is expected to take oath of office tomorrow evening. He assured students of Telangana that the government would protect their interests.
