Eight peacocks found dead in UP's Kannauj

The matter came to light, when Kakraiya village residents spotted dogs eating peacock carcasses

At least eight peacocks were found dead in Kakraiya village under Saurikh Police Station area in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh (UP).

The matter came to light when Kakraiya village residents spotted dogs eating peacock carcasses and sounded police about it.

Police sent the carcasses for post-mortem to ascertain the exact reason being peacocks' sudden deaths.

Villagers, however, suspected that the peacocks would have died of thrust as there was scarcity of water in the region or due to heat stroke.

Earlier, one peacock was found dead in Hisamuddin village under Thathia Police Station due to heat stroke.
