Flood alert sounded in AP, Naidu reviews situation

With flood alert sounded in coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu today directed ministers and officials to take up prompt rescue and relief measures wherever necessary.

Amid flood predictions for the coastal districts, the chief minister has instructed officials to ensure people were safe and evacuated, if required, from areas that are likely to face nature's fury, a release from office of the Advisor (Communications) to Government of Andhra Pradesh said here.

He has asked ministers from the region to coordinate with departments concerned and see to it that rescue and relief measures were extended to affected people. He has told officials to keep him updated on the flood alert, it added.
