Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will give away the Business Standard Annual Awards to 11 outstanding individuals and institutions at a function in Mumbai on Saturday evening. While Tech Mahindra Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) C P Gurnani will receive the CEO of the Year award, the Company of the Year award will go to Motherson Sumi Systems. GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and Power Grid Corporation are the Star Multinational and Star Public Sector Company, respectively. E-Clerx Services is the Star SME and Paytm will win the Most Innovative Company award.
IndusInd Bank MD & CEO Romesh Sobti will be awarded the Banker of the Year award, while HDFC Mutual Fund’s Prashant Jain and UTI Mutual Fund’s Sudhir Agarwal are the Fund Managers of the Year.
To celebrate Business Standard’s 40th year of thought leadership, two other awards have been added this year — Best Entrepreneur of 40 years and Best Company of 40 years. This was to recognise the institutions and individuals who started operating in the late 1970s and had a significant affect on the country’s business landscape. Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy is the Best Entrepreneur of 40 years, while Tata Consultancy Services is the Best Company of 40 years.
