Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) chairman Vipul Chaudhary will be challenging the Gujarat High Court order giving nod for implementation of no confidence motion against him passed by majority of federation members.
On Monday the a single bench of high court had allowed GCMMF to go ahead with the implementation of no confidence motion against Chaudhary which was passed by members on December 5, 2012. The motion was brought as the members were suspicious of Chaudhary's functioning and suspected that his way of administration was not in the interest of the federation. They further held that the motion was needed to safeguard the interest of three million milk producers of Gujarat.
Chaudhary's lawyer P S Champaneri said that they were waiting for the certified copy of the order. "Once we have the copy we will be filing appeal before the division bench anytime before January 11," Champaneri said.

"The applicant Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) is at liberty to implement the Resolution dated December 5, 2013 expressing no confidence in Vipul Chaudhary, as the Chairperson of the Federation," the court ordered.
The court also referred the petition of Chaudhary, challenging the October 25, 2013 meeting to discuss the no-confidence motion against him, to the division bench on various law points. The matter will now be assigned to the concerned division bench by the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.
Besides no confidence motion, Chaudhary is also facing charges of corruption from members of the Mehsana District Milk Producers Union Ltd (MDMPUL). The Gujarat High Court last month directed the state government to inquire the allegation of corruption against Chaudhary and his close aides in the Mehsana union while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Baldev Chaudhary and Mangal Patel, both members of the MDMPUL. The state government last month submitted an inquiry report on the allegation of corruption against Chaudhary and his close aides.
