Girls outsmart boys in Odisha class XII examinations

Total pass percentage in this year's Council of Higher Secondary Education examination is 68.36

Girl students in Odisha have outperformed boys in class XII annual examination, the results of which were announced today.

The total pass percentage in this year's Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) examination is 68.36 out of which 72.85% are girls and 64.17% are boys, Higher Education Minister Pradip Panigrahi said while announcing the results here.

In the Arts stream, the total pass percentage is 68.19, which in Science, Commerce and Vocational stream are 70.13, 54.14 and 55.23 respectively.

Out of 3,24,461 students who appeared for this year's examinations, 1,34,315 students have cleared the Arts exams followed by 60,119 in Science and 17,796 students in Commerce.
 
In the Arts stream, 11,778 have passed in the first division, 22,993 in second and 96,618 in third division.

In Science, 15,953 students have passed in first division, 21,417 in second and 21,219 in third division while in the Commerce stream, 3,480 have passed in the first division, 3,123 in second and 11,035 in third division.

The pass percentage of the Regular and ex-Regular students are 57.03 and 47.90 respectively.

This year, Nayagarh district has the highest pass percentage with 83.56 and Kalahandi district has the lowest with 49.79.
