You can volunteer if you have an active Twitter and Facebook account (real-time), are proficient in using social media group collaboration tools like Tweetdeck, Hootsuite and so on, check e-mail accounts regularly, have access to high-speed internet and if you are willing to use your personal social presence to help the government spread a word about its policies and programmes
To facilitate a personalised interaction, a Digital Volunteer may like to talk about government policies by retweeting the messages tweeted by the Ministry of I&B's Twitter Handle @MIB_India, share the Ministry's Tweets, Facebook posts (facebook.com/inbministry), blog posts (inbministry.blogspot.in) and share YouTube videos on various social networking sites, mention official Twitter handle of the Ministry @MIB_India in tweets to facilitate real time engagement and may suggest to the government ways to reach out to people on social media.
Government websites had become frequent target of hackers and protesters had raised the ante against the government’s move to police the internet. Recently, the hacking group - Anonymous India - took down several government websites like that of BSNL and official website of Kapil Sibal.
