Grass-root level plan to promote MSME in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh government had designed a grass-root level planning to promote the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and facilitate investment in the sector.

Under the strategy designed, the department of commerce and industry had planned to organise workshop in each district of Chhattisgarh in which public representatives have also been invited. In the first phase of the programme, six of the 27 districts in the state would be covered.

“The initiative is unique as it’s a paradigm shift in approach wherein the investors at district level are engaged by apprising them about the opportunities to unleash the growth potential at the local level,” secretary with the department of commerce and industry Subodh Kumar Singh said. The workshop is aimed to strengthen the focus on MSMEs and engage with all stakeholdersto achieve simplification, automation and smoother facilitation of schemes and benefits to MSMEs, thereby further enabling Ease of Doing Business in the State, he added.
 
During the workshop, an MSME guide detailing the industry cycle from setting up a business to successful operation would be released that would be taken up for discussion later during the sessions. Besides the state officials from the department and agencies concerned, representatives from the ministry would also attend the workshop.

The initiative of the state government would also explore the theme of Make in Chhattisgarh and manufacture the products coming from the other parts of the country. During the workshop, focus would be on the availability of local resources that would be put in use for the MSME to add value.
