Gujarat CM launches 'Swachh Bharat' campaign from Porbandar

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel today launched the Gujarat edition of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' from Porbandar, Mahatma Gandhi's birth place, and urged people to change their mindset to make the cleanliness mission successful.

After reaching Porbandar this morning, Patel first wielded a broom and cleaned the garbage on a street leading to Kirti temple, where she also took part in the prayers on Gandhi's birth anniversary.

Patel also posted a picture showing her cleaning the street on her official Twitter account. Below the photograph, her tweet read, "Launched statewide 'Swachhta Abhiyan' at Bapu's birth place, Porbandar".

After the prayers, she also addressed those present in Kirti temple on the occasion.
 
She also made an appeal to all the citizens of Gujarat to change their mindset and work hard to fulfil the dream of a cleaner India.

Her tweet read, "I appeal to ppl of Guj to change mindset as mentioned by PM @narendramodi & together strive towards fulfilling Bapu's dream of #SwachhBharat" Similarly, other ministers, accompanied by senior government officials and elected representatives went to different parts of the state to launch the drive.

Road and Building minister Nitin Patel was at Mehsana while Finance Minister Saurabh Patel cleaned the streets near Law garden here.

BJP patriarch and Gandhinagar MP Lal Krishna Advani, who is on a two-day state visit, also cleaned the road near Vastrapur lake here.
