With Gujarat grabbing the eyeballs of film producers to shoot their films in the state, the tourism corporation has set up a 'film shooting cell' in the state.
"The cell has been set up with in order to help film producers identify and inform producers about various locations for the film shoot as well as obtain necessary permission," Pradipsinh Jadeja, minister of state for tourism, Gujarat government today informed the state assembly.
By encouraging film shooting in Gujarat, the tourism department aims to promote tourism in the state.
Bollywood films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Refugee, Gandhi-My Father, Lagaan, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Kai Po Che, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster have been shot in Kutch, Wankaner, Pavagadh, Champaner, Devgadh Bariya, Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
According to the minister, more films are going to be shot in Gujarat in days to come.
