Hazare rejects govt overtures as ploy

Ahead of the indefinite fast planned by Team Anna in Delhi on the issue of corruption, the government has stepped forward with more than one peace offering, but in vain. The first was a secret meeting by Law Minister Salman Khurshid with Anna Hazare on June 29. The second was a conciliatory letter from V Narayanasamy, minister of state in the PMO, addressed to Hazare. Hazare said on Wednesday he’d spurned both. “These are ploys to divide us and prevent the July 25 agitation,'' he said.
