The International Association for Exhibitions & Events (IAEE) " is keen on setting up an academy to train people in exhibition and event management" in Andhra Pradesh. IAEE president and chief executive officer, David DuBois, disclosed this when he called on chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, here on Monday.
According to an official press release, DuBois also said that IAEE will provide certification for skill upgradation including courses like exhibition management.
"We want to begin by addressing the gap in this (tourism) sector in Andhra Pradesh and emerge as an academy that caters to the entire Asia-Pacific region. This will be the first-of-its-kind academy in the world," DuBois was stated to have told the chief minister.
The chief minister informed DuBois that Amaravathi, the new state capital, would have a mega convention centre where IAEE could set up an academy and train students.
