In a scintillating display of chasing down a huge total, Virat Kohli’s knock of 82* from 51 balls helped India beat Australia and reach the semi finals of the ICC World T20. They will face West Indies on March 31 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Indian vice-captain’s knock, which included nine boundaries and two huge sixes, came in at a time when the mammoth target was almost out of sight, especially with the higher required run rate.

Kohli’s magical batting was lauded by cricketers and other eminent personalities across many fields. They took on to micro-blogging site Twitter to hail the great innings.

Business Standard takes a look at how the Twitterati reacted to Kohli’s innings and, as a result, India’s victory.
The former English cricketer got a befitting reply for the tweet from the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, implying that India would defeat England if they make it to the finals.
Meanwhile, Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson was trolled on the micro-blogging platform for his previous tweet on Kohli. He had mocked the Indian vice-captain for not doing enough in important games.
However, he later praised the batsman for stepping up for this World Cup game.
