Industries & IT minister, PK Kunhalikutty today inaugurated the business incubator, set up by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) at Kinfra Park, Kakkanad, near here.
KSIDC has set up the incubator as a continuation of Young Entrepreneur Summit (YES) held in September.
Satyajeet Rajan, principal secretary - Industries and managing director, KSIDC, said eight of the 61 applicants at the YES summit, who had requested for incubation space, had been provided space at the new business incubator. The eight start-ups will start operations from today itself.
These startups cover areas of software/mobile application development, interactive game development, e-commerce, wireless charging technology, CSR management activity, virtual classroom for teaching practices and software product development. Companies such as Datafactors Software, Tutti Frutti Interactive, 3Q mentors and Grabmy Grocery are setting up their startup ventures. The 5,000-sft incubator, set up at Geo Info Centre, can accommodate 120 people.
