INX Media case: CBI files charge sheet against Chidambaram, Karti

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has named former finance minister P Chidambaram, his son Karti Chidambaram, and 12 others, including bureaucrats, as accused in its prosecution complaint, or charge sheet, filed before a Delhi court on Friday in the INX Media case. 

The probe agency has charged Chidambaram and Karti, Congress MP from Tamil Nadu’s Shivaganga constituency, with causing losses to the government and taxpayers by receiving kickbacks from corporates for illegally granting approvals for foreign investments. The charge sheet has been filed under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code.
