Apollo Hospitals has said that the experts are continuing a treatment for infection to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalaithaa, who is responding well to the treatment.

The hospital is also taking expert opinion from Richard Beale, an International specialist and consultant from the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London, who was flown in from UK on September 30.

He has examined the Chief Minister and conducted discussions with the expert group in Apollo, and concurred with the present line of management, said a statement from the hospital management.

Based on the detailed discussions which the expert group of doctors had with Beale, the current treatment plan including appropriate antibiotics and other allied clinical measures are presently being continued to treat infection.

Jayalalithaa has been advised a few more days stay in the hospital for treatment, it added.

It may be noted that there were rumours regarding her health conditions, the State Governor on Saturday visited her in the hospital and assured the public that she is recovering well. She was admitted to hospital on September 22, and the hospital said that she had fever and dehydration at the time of admission.
