IT major HCL has hired Jet Airways to evacuate its over 100 employees stranded due to Chennai floods. The carrier airlifted the employees from Chennai to Delhi through special chartered flights.

These employees were stuck in Chennai, which saw heavy rains and floods over the past one week and heavy rains since November 6.

Jet Airways said guests with confirmed bookings till December 15 can rebook flights without any charge and the Airline also said it is reinstating its international flights between Chennai and Abu Dhabi (December 8) and Chennai – Singapore (December 9).

"Our team has dug deep and is fully mobilised to reinstate all domestic flts to/from Chennai from December 8," said the Airline in its tweet.

Jet Airways to operate full domestic schedule to and from Chennai from tomorrow (December 8). All set to operate five more flights between Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Chennai today afternoon onwards, said the Airline.

"We flew 400 plus guests between Mumbai, Bengaluru & Chennai this morning. Working hard to connect other cities soon," said the Airline.
