Jharkhand Day celebrated at India International Trade Fair

More than 200 visitors witness cultural evening

Jharkhand celebrated its state day at the India International Trade Fair in New Delhi on Saturday. Amid a host of traditional and cultural activities showcasing the art and dance forms of different regions of Jharkhand, some 200 people visited the event.
 
Inaugurating the event, which was also attended by Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said: “Jharkhand this time is the partner State of IITF, 2015, and it is a real pride for us.” Das also visited the stalls at the Jharkhand pavilion and praised the arrangements.
 
The cultural show at the event included a unique touch of ethnic tribal heritage, Santali dance, Paika dance and Manbhoom chhau. Manoj Kedia’s Vaad Vadan, Sarita Kachhap’s Kalash Dance, Manual Soren’s Santhali Dance, Shankar Nayak’s Nagpuri Dance, Jhirga Bhagat’s Oraon Dance, Subodh Pramanik’s Paika Dance, Gambhir Chandra Mahto’s, Manbhum Chhau and collective group performances were the main highlights.
   
Earlier on Saturday, Additional Chief Secretary & Member Board of Revenue Vishnu kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kumar, Secretary Suneel Barnwal, Principal Resident Commissioner U P Singh, Director Industry K Ravi Kumar and Deputy Director Dept of Information and Public Relations Rakesh Kumar had also visited the pavilion.
