A NIA special court on Tuesday extended, till August 24, the judicial custody of seven members of suspected Islamic State (IS) terror module arrested here.

As the judicial custody of the accused ended on Tuesday, they were produced before the judge through video conferencing from Cherlapally jail.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on June 29 claimed to have busted the module by detaining 11 youths. Five of them were arrested while the remaining were let off after questioning.

The investigating agency on July 12 arrested two out of the six released earlier after questioning.

The NIA said the men, all residents of old city of Hyderabad, were conspiring to commit terrorist acts in various parts of the country. They were allegedly planning to target public places, including religious sites and sensitive government buildings.

The investigators further interrogated the accused in their custody to collect evidence about their conspiracy.
