Kadapa airport to be named after poet 'Annamayya'

Soon steps will be mooted from the state government and from the civil aviation department to name the airport as 'Annamayya airport

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju today said the Kadapa airport in Andhra Pradesh will be named after 'Annamayya', the famous poet.

Raju along with Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu, minister of state for science and technology YS Choudhary and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the airport today.

"Soon steps will be mooted from the state government and from the civil aviation department to name the airport as 'Annamayya airport," Raju said.

"Air Pegasus will operate flights for three days between Bangalore and Kadapa. Later flight services will be increased and can be extended to Hyderabad, Chennai and Visakapatnam," he said.
