The Karnataka government has directed health officials of the city corporation to take adequate measures to check outbreak of communicable diseases. Health Minister U T Khader told a review meeting here that priority should be given for cleanliness and hygiene.
He directed city corporation officials to take up a cleanliness drive to prevent malaria, dengue and chikungunya. He also asked them to take stern action against those who keep their surroundings unhygienic.
Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary N Sivasailam said town planning and health officials should work in coordination. Deputy Mayor Kavita, Sashidhar Hegde, corporator and former mayor and other officials were present at the meeting held yesterday.
