BJP ruled Karnataka today joined the anti-NCTC chorus with Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda attacking the Centre for 'imposing' its decision to operationalise the National Counter Terrorism Centre on the states without consulting them.

"The Centre is dictating to states. Such actions undermine the federal structure and also the democratic principles," he told reporters here.

Gowda criticised the UPA Government for going ahead with its decision even after some states opposed it.

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, an ally of UPA, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and others have already opposed NCTC saying it usurped states' powers.
