A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, Bilal Shekih, was apprehended by Security forces in Shopian District

Based on specific input that terrorists were planning to carry out a grenade blast in Shopian or Imam Sahib area, a joint search operation was launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 62 Rashtriya Rife and 14 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in different areas of Shopian district.

During the search operation, one person was found in suspicious circumstances in the orchards in Chotipora village, said a defence statement.

He was challenged to stop, but he tried to run away, however, after following the meticulous security drill, he was overpowered and arrested, said the statement, adding that the terrorist was identified as Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Aglar Zahanpora.

 

He was missing and have joined Hizbul Mujahideen outfit since October 5, said statement, adding that two Chinese grandees and some incriminating material were seized from his possession.

An FIR has been lodged in this connection.
