KCR lays stone for 600-Mw project

CM directs the company to complete the project, which was estimated to cost Rs 3,570 cr, in 30 months to overcome the supply-demand mismatch in the state

Chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today laid the foundation stone for 600-Mw second stage-2 thermal power project, being set up by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) at Jaipur in Adilabad district.

The chief minister directed the company to complete the project, which was estimated to cost Rs 3,570 crore, in 30 months to overcome the supply-demand mismatch in the state.

The ongoing stage 1 project involves setting up of two units of 600-Mw each, and had been awarded to BHEL and McNally Bharat Engineering Company Limited.
