Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal on Saturday came down heavily on the Centre's move to 'demonetise' Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, saying it was a 'huge scam' by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led NDA govt.
Addressing the media, amid crisis at ATMs across the country, Kejriwal alleged that Modi government had forewarned its friends. He said, "Its a huge scam in the name of black money crackdown". Arvind Kejriwal further alleged that there was a significant rise in deposits being made to the banks in July-September quarter. He questioned, "Who did all this money belong to?". Gold is being sold in the black market at Rs 60,000 for 10 gms, alleged the Delhi CM.
In the name of battling corruption, the only thing that is going to happen is that a lot of money is merely going to change hands and be redistributed." Kejriwal said.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief targetted three questions at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and BJP:
1. Who has black money? - Adani, Ambani, Subhash Chandra, Badal or the common man, poor people, farmers and Kiranawalas?
