Indian Premier Leauge (IPL) defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders ended their IPL journey on a high last year and now that is set to get bigger and better Kolkata, the city of joy, is set to sizzle as it will host the opening ceremony on Tuesday which promises to be cracker of a event in India's sporting history.
Shahrulkh Khan, too has not left any stone unturned to make it a grand success. While his leading ladies Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone will spice up the opening night with their desi moves (latkas and jhatkas), American rapper Pitbull will offer a healthy dose of international flavour.
Of course, cheer leaders and Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee too will be present which would surely set the ball rolling. She has already accepted the invitation and has promised that she will attend the opening night and the first match of KKR and Delhi Daredevils on Wednesday.

If sources are to be believed, Khan will recite a poetry of famous poet Rabindranath Tagore's where the mind is without fear. Bollywood composer Pritam has also churned out a track for IPL to which some 300 dancer are going to show their moves.
The event is being managed by Red Chillies Entertainment and according to its CEO Venky Mysore Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the blockbuster event by Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) .
The Salt Lake stadium or Yuva Bharati Kriangan, mainly used for hosting football matches, has been decorated in a lavish way, which includes a mammoth-size stage for the opening show. Precautions have also been taken so that the Astroturf used for football matches does not get damaged. The tickets sales have already hit the roof and hundreds were found queuing at various points in the city for several hours to get a entry pass for the gala night.
The only prayer people have been making so far is that the rain gods should not spoil the show unlike last year.
