KU contract staff left in a quandary

The letter from the governor's secretary to the registrar of the Karnatak University not to act upon certain resolutions passed at the syndicate meetings and finance committee meetings of the university has left several newly-appointed employees and the contract workers in a quandary.

In response to a letter written by KU registrar Chandrama Kanagali to the governor who is also the chancellor of the university drawing his attentions to certain resolutions passed in the Syndicate meetings of August 1, 2014 and September 3, 2014 and finance committee meeting on September 20, 2014.

Secretary to Governor Vijaykumar Torgal has written a letter to the registrar on September 14. He has asked the registrar to send the agenda notes and resolutions of these meetings. He also has sought clarification on whether the varsity had obtained approval from the finance department regarding resolutions No 2, 8 and 22 (of meeting held on August 1, 2014), 6, 7 and 8 (of meeting held on September 3, 2019).
 
He has also informed the registrar not to act upon these resolutions till further orders as the Raj Bhavan wanted to examine them. Sources said these resolutions referred to the inquiry instituted against a law college professor, university registrar (administration) who was earlier chairperson of the PG department of English in KU, appointment to various posts and also to the proposed hike in the wages of contract employees among others.
