Earthquake of magnitude 4.0 hits Manipur's Ukhrul
An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Manipur's Ukhrul district on Saturday morning, the National Centre of Seismology (NCS) said.
According to National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 6.14am with a depth of 10 km. No casualties were reported.

NATO urges Russia to respect nuclear pact with US
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has called on Russia to respect its treaty with the US on nuclear weapons, which contributes to international stability.
NATO ambassadors said in a statement that "we note with concern that Russia has failed to comply with legally-binding obligations under the New START Treaty", Xinhua news agency reported.
The New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) was signed by Russia and the US in 2010. The last remaining nuclear arms control treaty in force between the two nuclear superpowers can be extended by a maximum of five years with the consent of the two countries. Russia and the US officially extended the treaty by five years on February 3, 2021.
US, India see each other as 'trusted partners': Indian Envoy
The United States and India are looking at each other as trusted partners and their trust is seen in the initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET), Indian Ambassador to US Taranjit Singh Sandhu said.
In an interview with ANI, an Indian envoy said, "US and India are looking at each other as trusted partners & that trust is being reflected in the iCET. The iCET is a historic beginning that provides a platform for both sides to move ahead together in the field of technology."
He also said the relationship between US and India strengthened after Prime minister Narendra Modi made his first visit to the US in 2014 and after President Joe Biden came into power, the interaction between the two countries and areas of discussion widened.
US jury finds Elon Musk not liable in Tesla tweet trial
A US jury on Friday decided that Tesla CEO Elon Musk was "not liable" for the losses incurred by investors after he tweeted that he was thinking to take the company private and added "funding secured," New York Times reported.
In August 2018, Musk tweeted, "Am considering taking Tesla private at USD 420. Funding secured."
"Investor support is confirmed. Only reason why this is not certain is that it's contingent on a shareholder vote," he added in the tweet.

The detection of the Chinese surveillance balloon transiting Latin America comes a day after the Pentagon found a Chinese surveillance balloon within its territory flying over Montana, leading to US Secretary of State Tony Blinken postponing his planned trip to Beijing.

Demand for affordable Indian generic vaccines skyrockets in China amid Covid surge

Pentagon rejects China's clarification over suspected balloon, says violation of US airspace 'unacceptable'
Rejecting China's statement regarding the suspected balloon in the US, Pentagon spokesperson Brigadier General Pat Ryder said they are certain that it is a 'surveillance balloon', adding that they had violated America's airspace and international law, which is 'unacceptable'.
In the press briefing, he also said that the Aerospace Defence is monitoring the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon 'closely'.
"The balloon continues to move eastward and is over the center of the continental US. Again, we currently assess that the balloon does not present a military or physical threat to people on the ground at this time, and we'll continue to monitor and review options," he added.
US announces additional security assistance for Ukraine
The administration of US President Joe Biden has announced an additional round of security assistance for Ukraine with a total value of $2.2 billion.
The latest package was divided into two parts - $425 million through the Presidential Drawdown Authority, and $1.75 billion from the congressionally-approved Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, Xinhua news agency reported, citing a statement from the Defense Department.
What's particularly noticeable in the materiel are long-range rockets for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS missile launchers that the United States have provided for Ukraine.
Jupiter's moon count jumps to 92, most in solar system
Astronomers have discovered 12 new moons around Jupiter, putting the total count at a record-breaking 92.
That's more than any other planet in our solar system. Saturn, the one-time leader, comes in a close second with 83 confirmed moons.
The Jupiter moons were added recently to a list kept by the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Centre, said Scott Sheppard of the Carnegie Institution, who was part of the team.
They were discovered using telescopes in Hawaii and Chile in 2021 and 2022, and their orbits were confirmed with follow-up observations.
These newest moons range in size from 0.6 miles to 2 miles (1 kilometer to 3 kilometers), according to Sheppard.
