Russia welcomes India's decision to not support G7's price cap on its oil

Russia has said that it welcomes India's decision to not support the price cap on Russian oil announced by the G7 and their allies. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak made the statement during his meeting with India's Ambassador to Russia, Pavan Kapoor on December 9.

"The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed India's decision not to support the price cap on Russian oil, which was imposed on December 5 by the G7 countries and their allies," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Novak stressed that Russia is responsibly fulfilling its contractual obligations for the supply of energy resources, diversifying energy exports to the countries in the east and south amid the energy crisis. Earlier in September, G7 nations agreed to impose a price cap on oil imports from Russia.

UP Congress to launch state-level 'Bharat Jodo Yatras' today

The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) will launch a state-level 'Bharat Jodo Yatras' from Sunday to mobilise cadres for party leader Rahul Gandhi's yatra, which is scheduled to enter Uttar Pradesh early January, party sources said.

The yatra will begin from Barabanki on Sunday and will reach Lucknow on Monday.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Zonal President Nakul Dubey, in a press statement, said the UPCC would be taking out six state-level yatras from different places in the state.

Twitter to relaunch premium subscription service 'Blue' after debacle

Twitter is once again attempting to launch its premium service, a month after a previous attempt failed.

The social media company said on Saturday it would let users buy subscriptions to Twitter Blue to get a blue checkmark and access special features starting Monday.

The blue checkmark was originally given to companies, celebrities, government entities and journalists verified by the platform.

Flight debunching, more X-ray machines planned at IGI airport to ease rush

An action plan has been drawn to ease the movement of passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport here and reduce congestion. Officials said that a four-point action plan has been drawn up following discussions between Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and it is being worked upon as an immediate remedial measure. Under the action plan, the current 14 X-ray screening systems will be enhanced by two additional X-ray screening systems. This will take the total X-ray systems to 16. More manpower has been deployed in the ATRS (Automatic Tray Retrieval System).

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to take oath as Himachal CM today

Former Congress state chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will take oath as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Mukesh Agnihotri, the leader of the opposition in the outgoing Assembly, will take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 1.30 pm today, reported news agency ANI.
