Lufthansa Airlines raises salary for pilots

Germany's flag carrier Lufthansa Airlines Group has agreed to pay increased salary to its pilots at Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo after the frequent strikes from the pilots over a 5.5 per cent pay rise this year.
"Lufthansa and the German pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit union have agreed on a pay increase for pilots at Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo. The cockpit crews will receive an increase in their basic monthly pay of 490 euros each in two stages - with retroactive effect from 1 August 2022, and as of 1 April 2023," a press release from Lufthansa Group stated.

Third day of Kerala leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra commences

The third day of the Kerala leg of Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra commenced on Tuesday from Kaniyapuram near Kazhakootam here where the yatra ended on the previous day.
The third day of the yatra, which commenced around 7.15 am, also saw an encouraging turnout of people like the previous two days of the Kerala leg of the foot march which is set to cover 3,570 kilometres from Kanyakumari to Kashmir over a 150-day period.
When the yatra ended on Monday evening it had covered 100 kilometres.

SC dismisses O Panneerselvam's petition against Madurai HC order

Supreme Court dismissed the petition of former CM and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader O Panneerselvam against the Madurai High Court order of handing over the key of AIADMK headquarters to the party's interim general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.

SC to hear BCCI's plea on tenure of its office bearers today

The Supreme Court on Monday said that it would hear on September 13, a plea of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking the court's permission to amend its constitution concerning the tenure of its office bearers including that of the President and Secretary.
