10 CRPF jawans injured as truck overturns in Jharkhand
Ten CRPF personnel were injured, some of them critically, when a truck carrying them overturned after losing control while trying to save some bovine animals in Jharkhand's Giridih district on Friday, police said.
The incident took place in Madhuban police station area when around 25 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force's 154th Battalion were being transported from Madhuban to Nimiaghat, a police officer said.
Some cattle suddenly came in front of the CRPF truck and the driver tried to manoeuvre to save them, following which the vehicle overturned, the officer said. The injured jawans have been admitted to a local hospital and it is being discussed whether to airlift the two-three personnel who are in critical condition, he added.

Govt to provide production-linked incentives to more sectors: Niti Aayog
The government will introduce the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for more sectors to boost domestic manufacturing, Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar said on Friday. Addressing a virtual event organised by industry body FICCI, Kumar also highlighted the government's efforts to push electric mobility or e-mobility in the country.
He said "85 per cent of vehicles on the street are two- and three-wheelers and we want to shift them to electric mobility going forward. We have finalised standard of charging for two- and three-wheelers," he said.
On opportunities and facilities for investors, Kumar said, "We will, while attracting FDI, also repose our faith and trust in those who have already invested in India. And we want to recognise them by giving much better logistics, much better infrastructure."

Tencent Games terminates all services, access for Pubg Mobile users in India
Chinese company Tencent Games on Friday said it is terminating all services and access for Pubg Mobile users in India to comply with the government order last month. On September 2, India banned 118 mobile apps with Chinese links, including popular game Pubg Mobile, citing data privacy concerns and a threat to national security, according to a PTI report.
This took the total count of Chinese-linked mobile apps banned by India to 224.
"Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to Pubg Mobile Nordic Map: Livik and Pubg Mobile Lite, together "Pubg Mobile" on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish Pubg Mobile in India will be returned to the owner of the Pubg intellectual property," Pubg Mobile India page on a social media website said.

Significant improvement in Delhi's air quality likely in next 2 days: SAFAR
A significant improvement is likely in the national capital's air quality over the next two days, a central government air quality monitoring agency said onFriday.
The Ministry of Earth Sciences' air quality monitor, SAFAR, said that the share of stubble burning in Delhi's PM2.5 pollution was 19 per cent on Friday. It was 36 per cent on Thursday, the maximum so far this season, 18 per cent on Wednesday, 23 per cent on Tuesday, 16 per cent on Monday, 19 per cent on Sunday and nine per cent on Saturday.
The number of farm fires in neighbouring states dropped from 2,912 on Wednesday the highest so far this season to 1,143 on Thursday. Delhi's overall air quality index (AQI) has improved marginally as predicted and remains in the high end of the very poor category, it said. READ ON...

150 hockey players resume sports activities in Maharashtra
A total of 150 players have resumed limited sports activities in Maharashtra in accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs' (MHA) recent guidelines amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The players, who are above the age of 17, are slowly finding their groove on the field after being away from the pitch for many months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The players and the coaches of the state member unit, who are currently building towards their next domestic tournament - district league matches, are following all the necessary protocols provided to them by Hockey India, stated Hockey India in a release.

PM Narendra Modi inaugurates 'Arogya Van' in Narmada
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated 'Arogya Van' in Kevadia. The Prime Minister also took a tour of 'Arogya Van' after inaugurating it. The park has hundreds of medicinal plants and herbs and also provides information about their usage and importance. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Governor Acharya Devvrat were also present.
PM Modi is on a two-day visit to the state, the first time since the Covid-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdown in March, to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi met the family members of brothers Mahesh and Naresh Kanodia, who passed away recently, on Friday. The Prime Minister offered his tributes to the brothers and also spoke with the family members at their residence.
