Covid care facility mishap: Three hospital officials arrested

Three officials of a private hospital were arrested on Monday in connection with the August 9 fire mishap which killed 10 patients at a star hotel converted to a Covid care facility.
 
Ramesh Hospitals leased the star hotel and converted it into a paid Covid Care Centre and lodged 31 patients when the mishap occurred, in a suspected case of an electrical short circuit.

Power Grid net profit falls 18 per cent to Rs 2,048 cr in June quarter

State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd on Monday posted an over 18 per cent fall in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,048.42 crore for the June 2020 quarter.
 

The company's consolidated net profit had stood at Rs 2,502.80 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year 2019-20, according to a BSE filing.
 

Its total income rose to Rs 9,816.72 crore in the April-June 2020 period, compared with Rs 9,361.72 crore in the year-ago period.
 

Expenses rose to Rs 6,277.29 crore, from Rs 5,982.30 crore a year ago.

Equitas Small Finance Bank Q1 net profit flat at Rs 60 crore

Small finance lender Equitas Small Finance Bank on Monday reported a profit after tax of Rs 60 crore for the quarter ended June.
 
It had reported a net profit of Rs 59 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
 
During the quarter, it made provisions of Rs 68.34 crore, including provision of Rs 45 crore for potential impact of Covid-19. This was in addition to Rs 99.63 crore Covid-19 provision created in last quarter, a release said.
