Intel's Mobileye, partners to launch self-driving shuttles in 2024
Intel Corp's Mobileye unit plans to build and deploy self-driving electric shuttle vehicles with its partners in the United States in 2024, in a bid to scale up its automated driving systems beyond taxis and delivery vehicles, executives told Reuters. Mobileye, Benteler EV Systems and Beep will launch the on-demand driverless shuttles, which will feature 12 to 14 seats and no steering wheel or pedal.

Ukraine crisis: Russian invasion could start at ‘any time’, White House warns
White House principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre warned that: “We are in the window when an invasion could begin at any time” in relation to the face-off between Russia and Ukraine.
At the daily media briefing at the White House a little earlier, Jean-Pierre added: “The path for diplomacy remains available ... But we are clear-eyed about the prospects on the ground” with 100,000-plus Russian troops massed along the Ukraine border.

Vedanta signs up with Foxconn to manufacture semiconductors in India
In a significant development for the performance-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta and Hon Hai Technology Group (also known as Foxconn) have formed a joint venture (JV) to manufacture semiconductors in India. This is the first JV in the electronics manufacturing space after the PLI policy, a joint statement issued by the companies said.
In December 2021, the Centre had cleared a PLI scheme for semiconductor and display board production in the country targeting an investment of Rs 76,000 crore over the next five to six years. India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) was also announced recently with the aim to attract large investments for manufacturing facilities in the midst of a global chip crisis. Read on...
